Pictured right is myself after completing Warwickshire Sprint Triathlon in October 2011, 3 months after shoulder surgery to correct an A/C joint injury (displaced collar bone) suffered due to a cyling accident in April 2011. Give me a challenge and I'll keep going until I reach it. Natural in the water, I spent many years in the pool, branching out into open water swimming, swimming both the largest lake in Wales (2way Bala) and in England (Lake Windermere) in my first season, at my first attempt. In 2008 I was a finalist in the Worlds Winter Swimming Championships and have competed at the British Indoor Rowing Championships on several occasions. I've ran the Great North Run twice, the Birmingham Half marathon and walked the BRMB marathon distance walkathon in just over 6 hours and numerous other runs at other distances. After a few years of non-competing while I trained as a teacher, in recent years, I have become interested in Triathlon and have competed at Sprint Distance. In 2012, I am increasing the distance to Olympic Distance.
I have a degree in Contemporary Arts Writing and a PGCE in general Primary Education and currently work as a Primary School Teacher. Past jobs have been in Engineering and the leisure industry. I have two future goals that keep burning bright in my thoughts, the one, to become a published author and the other to be the best athlete that I can be... Happily, I live in the West Midlands with my number 1 fan, the girl who keeps me grounded."
